This impressive looking grass is native to the Mediterranean basin. The flower heads are nearly 2' (60cm) long and typically bloom from July to December if grown in warmer climates. Can become invasive if not kept in check and the conditions are right. The edges of the grass can be sharp enough to leave small lacerations on exposed skin, so care is needed when working with the plant.
