Senna didymobotrya is a species of flowering plant known by the common names African senna, popcorn senna, candelabra tree, and peanut butter cassia. It is native to Africa and has been introduced to many other parts of the world for use as an ornamental plant. In some places it is now naturalized in the wild, for example, in parts of the United States in California, Florida, and Hawaii.
African senna flowers plentifully with bright yellow flowers from June until September. It is a hairy, aromatic shrub usually reaching about 100", 250cm tall, though can grow taller in optimal growing conditions. The leaves of the plant are up to half a meter long.
In cool areas they are often used as a patio plant, and they are hardy outdoors in zones 9-10.
