Drosophyllum lusitanicum <br>DEWY PINE

Drosophyllum lusitanicum had originally been classified as Drosera. Later, it was determined to be its own species. Native to the Atlantic coast of the Mediterranean. It grows in a poor, and rather dry environment.

In comparison to Sundew, Drosophyllum seeds are larger, about 2-3mm, and are teardrop shaped. Very limited supply.

This plant is often grown as an annual, but it's actually a perennial with the correct conditions. In the second picture, you can see some freshly germinated Drosophyllum seedlings.

Type: Perennial (though often grown as an annual), carnivorous

Hardiness zone: 9-10

Height: Up to 40-50cm, 16-20"
