This hardy perennial is native to parts of Eastern Asia, growing well in moist, well-drained soils. Does not do well in lime soils. This particular variety has been awarded the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Grows best in either a rock garden or in a container. Blooms from August to November, adding late season colour to the garden with vibrant blue flowers.
