This perennial is native to parts of Europe and Asia, though grown worldwide in cultivation. Does well in average soils with full sun to shade conditions. With pale blue flowers, the plant can reach a height of up to 4'.

Ornamental use suggested, as Licorice contains a component called glycyrrhizin, or glycyrrhizic acid, that can cause serious adverse effects in large amounts.
