This hardy perennial is native to Eastern Europe, also known as 'balm-leaved deadnettle', this plant is clump forming. Typically doesn't spread much, may self seed outside the main clump of plants, but is easy to control. Prefers full shade, growing in woodlands in its natural habitat. It's also a great pollinator plant for honey bees. Some sources say it's hardy down to zone 3, though we haven't tested that personally.
