The luscious flesh is sweet, tasty and delicious. they are closely related to lychees, and are native to China, Taiwan and South East Asia. The skin is smooth, rather than prickly like the common lychee, and peels off more easily than that of the lychee, rather like an egg shell! Also the tree is hardier than lychee, and bears more heavily!
