This is an all-red form of the popular pitcher plant, and is absolutely stunning with deep red-purple color! This particular variety has ruffled lids. Forms upward pointing pitchers, often partially filled with rain water. Forms a dense clump of low-growing pitchers.

The large flowers are extremely showy, rose to dark-pink, and nodding with an umbrella-like style. They are held on tall stems above the plants. The flowers last several weeks, attracting spring pollinators.
