This is a compact dwarf form, reaching only 12" tall! Sanguisorba officinalis, commonly known as great burnet, is native to North America, and throughout the cooler regions of the Northern Hemisphere in Europe and northern Asia. It flowers June to August. Sanguisorba officinalis is an important food plant for the European large blue butterflies Phengaris nausithous and P. teleius.
