Forms clumps of semi-upright, trumpet shaped pitchers. Sarracenia 'velvet' is likely a cross between Sarracenia leucophylla and a variety of Sarracenia purpurea. Generally plants grow to approximately 8" tall.
The large flowers are extremely showy, rose to dark-pink, and nodding with an umbrella-like style. They are held on tall stems above the plants. The flowers last several weeks, attracting spring pollinators.
