Alpine strawberries are larger than wild strawberries, though still have the natural characteristic and nutrition of the original natural strawberries, and remain unaltered by hybridization! Fruit are extremely sweet, are produced early in the season, and are continually produced for many weeks. Plants are easy to grow, and are very tolerant of drought and poor soils. Ideally plants can be placed in a sunny location, though these are probably the most tolerant of strawberries, and will produce fruit in a partly shady location. Strawberries make excellent potted plants, and are also one of the few fruits that can be grown as houseplants! Plant at any time of year, and place in a sunny window.
